So I was gonna skip training this morning, but I feel\u00a0 better so maybe I’ll do the morning class afterall.<\/p>\n

Yesterday was a very long day.\u00a0 I traveled to SJ Language center in the morning and then came back a few hours later.\u00a0 I taught three kids classes today, but not in a row.\u00a0 I taught my Wednesday darlings! \ud83d\ude00\u00a0 Last week we studied “Make a wish!\u00a0 I’m the wish fish!\u00a0 What do you want?”\u00a0 “I want ____!”\u00a0 So today we reviewed that, and I taught them “I don’t want\u00a0 _____”\u00a0 I got a bunch of flash cards, some desireable (TV, video game, money, camera, cute jacket) and some not (perfume- if you’re a boy, goofy-looking striped pajamas, a stupid costume, a red dress – if you’re a boy, etc).\u00a0 I put them in a pile, and them pass them around, asking the kid next to him\/her “Do you want ____?” and they had to say, “No I don’t want ____” or “Yes, I want _____.”<\/p>\n

Kids aren’t good at making fast choices, so I wouldn’t let them chose the question because it would take too long.\u00a0 That turned out to be best, because when the asker saw which card was next, he or she exclaimed (in Japanese) “OHHH you definately will like this!” or “OH you won’t want this!”<\/p>\n

Then they got excited, forgot their line, and said, “Do you like ___?” I kept thinking, “Not ‘like,’ but ‘want!’\u00a0 I think they’re misunderstanding ;_____;”<\/p>\n

They were.\u00a0 They thought it was another “I like” activity.\u00a0 @_@;; THen finally T-kun said in Japanese “Ah, hoshi to iu koto desu ka?” which means “Oh you mean it’s what we “want?” and I said, “YES YES” and pointed at him.\u00a0 The whole class made a collective, “Ahhh!”<\/p>\n

YAAAAAAY<\/p>\n

So T-chan got money, T-kun got a watch, S-chan liked the pajamas and everyone was like “EH!?” and she said in Japanese, “But it’s a necessary thing to have warm pajamas, right?”\u00a0 D-kun kept refusing everything and finally got a recorder, and Y-chan got a DVD player. LOL\u00a0 I had to say ‘no’ to the red dress like 3 times, wtf.\u00a0 I definately don’t want to wear the red dress if I don’t have to.\u00a0 (drum roll)\u00a0\u00a0 Half-way through, once I was sure they memorized the line, I had them change to “Yes, please” and “No, thank you.”<\/p>\n

One of my friends asked me for guy advice.\u00a0 ME?\u00a0 Oh the irony.\u00a0 Me, who is married to my sport and my job, who has given up on men, am the LAST person to be giving advice. ^^;;\u00a0 But I’ve learned a lot vicariously through other people and I’ve read a lot and offered what I hoped was some good advice from my own limited experience…. Anyway, power to you!<\/p>\n

Abe-san is not going to be at morning training….so now I can go at my own pace and take care of my cold, and not feel like a complete wuss.\u00a0\u00a0 @_@;;;<\/p>\n

I’ve been really enjoying reading “Clan of the Cave Bears” but people keep telling me there’s a rape scene, and that bothers me so much that I’ve been reading this book almost feverishly because I’m afraid of that part, and when it’s going to happen, and I just want to get it over with…it’s effecting my enjoyment of the book. >_<<\/p>\n
