Roxanne Joins Ground Slam

As of June, 2012, Roxanne Modafferi transitoned away from freelance and officially joined the Reversal Gym "Ground Slam" team. Ground Slam is headed by Shuichiro Katsumura and supported by fighters such as Shooto fighter BJ Kojima, kickboxer Takahito Fujimaki, and ZST fighter and BJJ brown belt Tetsuya Fusano. Jewels 15

Roxanne will be facing Hitomi "Girlfight Monster" Akano, in the promotion Jewels 15. This is the second time to be matched up; December 30th, 2010 in Sengoku, Roxanne pulled out the morning of the fight due to a stomach illness. This time, the match will go down as planned July 9th, in the venue "Shinjuku Face," Tokyo.

Roxanne Modafferi lost a unanimous decision to Rosi Sexton at Cage Warriors 40 in London, Feb 27th. Thanks to the folks and CW and Rosi Sexton for a great time and a good fight.

Kirik's Strikeforce fight account

Kirik, my coach, wrote an account of my fight from his perspective: Saturday I had the honor of cornering Roxanne Modafferi at Strikeforce in Chicago. The winner would challenge for the most prestigious title in women’s MMA. Fight ended in 65 seconds, via an armbar so definitive it necessitated a trip to the ER.

K-Grace

On May 27th, 2007, Roxanne won the first K-Grace One Night 8-woman tournament, and took home the $10,000 prize!

Roxanne is fighting in K-Grace, put on by Marupuro in cooperation with GCM's Cage Force. This will be Japan's first all-women's cage fighting event, a one-night eight woman tournament.  May 27th at 6:30 in Differ Ariake Colosseum. Other known participants are Megumi Yabushita and Marleos Coenen.

On March 6, at 23:00 EST, Roxanne's fight with Shayna Baszler aired on Bodog's St Petersberg show on ION, channel 255 on DirecTV. This fight can be viewed online here
