Friday I worked in the morning, went to Groundslam and did weight training with my trainer, then went back to work, and finally went BACK to Groundslam and did technique and a bit of sparring. Jonathan was there, a former Groundslam member, who is visiting Japan for a fight. He taught me a lot of awesome technique that really helped me out. It’s so invaluable. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
This is a pic of me, him, and then Dale on the far left! 😀
I walked to the train station with Goto-san, my Japanese uncle-figure. Here’s a pic of everyone making fun of him for his ‘style,’ striped shirt matching his socks. Hah I took a pic just to tease him. XD hahaha G-san style!!!
Saturday I worked all day, and Sunday also, but didn’t get to give training to a fellow teacher as planned because of a schedule change. I was really bummed because I’d spent two hours of unpaid overtime prepping for it Saturday morning before lessons, and afterwards before I went home. 🙁 Hopefully I’ll get to do that later, but I was bummed all day.
Therefore I was really looking forward to hanging out with BURI-CHAN!! Brittany and I went to SHAKEY’S and ate pizza and the fracking HUGE MONSTER PARFAIT!! XD I love that thing. She paid for it cuz I gave her a Japanese lesson. 😀 That is how you bribe the Roxy.
My goodness, Brittany, what a sparkly…chest…you have. LOL The staff lit sparklers. hahahaha what placement!
But from now, I’m going to cut down on sweets. I wanna lose a few pounds in the next month.
Then today, I did pro training, and we only sparred 7 rounds! meaning I only got to go like 3 times because there were a lot of people, because people showed up SO LATE. GUYS!! 🙁 Class starts at 9, not 9:45! grrr I know it’s hard to train in the morning but I was there at 8:50AM warming up and hitting the bag. 🙁 But we did situational drills after that, which was pretty good. During the very last one, I jammed my elbow into the cage and it got cut and started bleeding all over me. ^^;
After training, I met Grace! 😀 My friend from my former language center, and we ate lunch at TGI Fridays and hung around Yokohama. 😀 She wanted to see my dojo, so I took her to Groundslam just for a few minutes. She wanted to do a ‘jumping pose.’ I just happened to have my camera with a timer, so we counted down 10 seconds and tried to jump on 1. LOL The first one was a hilarious failure! 😀

The second one, we got it!! 😀

Then we came across this hula show in Bay Quarter shopping mall, and I made a quick vlog:
Then I went BACK to the gym, where Tanuma-san gave me some SUPER AWESOME advice. I’m so excited. 😀 I hit mits and did some drills, and then went home. 😀 Work tomorrow!

I had a very good but tiring week.
I feel good. Really good. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this healthy. I’m walking around at a higher weight and my body just likes it. Some of my pants might not fit anymore but… *laugh*
Training is going well. It’s so good to be back from Vegas and back into my routine. Haha I did like Vegas a lot, but just it was so expensive to eat and get around…I saw how fast my money was going down, and it freaked me out. o_o;
I don’t know if I actually have jet lag because I’m always tired and I always wake up early. lol I arrived back in Japan on Sunday, and went to pro training on Monday. Then Tuesday I picked up a few bonus lessons 😀 Yay. My preschoolers were a little rowdy. -_-;
On Wednesday, I had hoped to do Katsumura-san’s morning class and then get a private lesson, but he was still in Okinawa after having cornered our teammates that weekend. So I taught class.
It was fun, but actually, I was kind of bummed about no private. ~_~; I wanted to do my own training.
Thursday, as with Monday, I went in early before pro class and hit the bag and did some stuff of my own. Then sparred. Harley and I had a fantastic sparring match. I went away with a bruised, cut up nose and he, a sore chin. lol I decided to wear headgear, and it’s working out because I think the guys feel they can hit me harder.
I wanted to do the beginner class, but I was wiped. I should have lifted weights, but . ~_~; I met my old coach and a friend, so enjoyed that a lot. Bought some gear at The Fitness Shop. Then I went home and collapsed, watched an ep of TUF 17, glad I didn’t go back to the gym. hah
Now it’s Friday and I have Viper training. I wonder if I should go to Groundslam or weight lifting tonight after work. I wonder if I’ll have the energy to do either.
It was the first time for me, and everything wowed me- the crowds, the buildings, the shapes and themes of the casinos, the types of food, the advertisements for prostitutes and sex shows…. soooo many sex shows ads. ;_; Sooo many pics of topless women. I can’t take it anymore. LOL People dressed up like stuff, hanging out on the side of the road. Man, they had Spartains, Hello Kitty, Transformers..my friend Tony got arrested by some sexy cops because he’s a baaaad boy. lol j/k
After the week went on, it got to be too much for me, and I just wanted to go home. ;_; Vegas sucked the money right out of my pockets! I wasn’t even buying stuff. I gambled only a bit (and lost) only like 70 bucks, but just taking a taxi somewhere was like BAM 20 bucks, BAM, another 20. Food was so expensive, and hard to eat healthily and cheaply. Seriously, there is NO place to get an adequate amount of vegetables when you eat out. I ate at Subway literally once a day. So it was fun, but only if you have money to spend.
I was getting up at like 3 AM every morning because of jetlag. Sometimes I used the exercise room downstairs! I lifted weights sometimes. My first night, my teammate Steve and I were SO jetlagged, so we met up and walked around the strip at like 4 AM. lol

Saw some mermaids on Treasure Island. It was all good.
It was really hard for me to coordinate with people to do what I wanted to do, when I could only use my phone’s wifi inside my hotel room. If I was going to be late or wanted to change plans, I had to try and find a Starbucks or McDonald’s on the Strip to leech off their wifi. ;_; Seriously, what did we used to do without cell phones? I wanted to meet up with a few people, and I didn’t get the chance! ;_; My friend Tony from California made the trip to hang out and I got to hang out with him, so that was cool.
Amanda Lucas kindly invited me to her gym! When I was finally able to make time to go, I found that SHE wasn’t going to be there. I wanted to train with HER. ;_; I hope next time!? Steve, Tony and I decided to go to Xtreme Couture on Friday, and that was cool!
I took the kickboxing and grappling class, and learned a sweet new head-arm choke by Eric. Thanks, everyone at Xtreme Couture! (vid)
I got to meet and hang out with a lot of other female fighters. It was great to see my old friend Tara LaRosa again. 😀 This pic is on my second night in Vegas, we all hung out together.

Jessamyn Duke, Shayna Baszler, and Tara LaRosa.
And I hit it off with Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras. Lol I love that fighting nickname.
Sarah, her sister and I went to Circus Circus and rode this carousel, and the horses were SO small, you can barely see them! It being a kid’s ride and all. haha
Let’s go to DISNEYLAND….oh wait, it’s the Excalibur castle. 😀 Which was still freaking awesome. We had dinner at “Dicks Last Resort” which was ug, quite the experience. I would have liked it better if I could HEAR what people were saying. It was so loud. The waiters’ jobs were to be mean to us. 🙁 I didn’t really lile the restaurant itself, but I enjoyed being with my friends, and the pulled chicky sammich was the best thing I’ve ever tasted ever. XD lol I wanted a water, so usually I would say, “Could I have a water, please?” but I had a feeling he wouldn’t give it to me, so maybe I should have said, “hey gimmie a water?” but maybe that wasn’t mean enough either, so I asked Tony to ask for a water for me. LOL haha
My friend Tony and I did lots of stuff:
Aslan ate my head:
We visited Casinos to walk around, (walked like an Egyptian in Luxor!)
Onward, noble steed!
saw a trapeze show in Circus Circus! I won a Crayon Cat in a Carnival game, haha.
and played miniature golf in a Kiss Themed place! 😀
I played DDR!
I got an anonymous gift from a fan!
So sweet! T shirt, Stay Puffed toy, and a snowglobe, not pictured. #teamninja Reveal Thyself! ;_;
Btw that snowglobe almost didn’t make it past airport security because I had to carry it in my carry-on and the lady was like “Sorry no liquids.” I hadn’t thought to get a plastic bag for it! She let me go. Thank youuuu. 😀
I ate a ton because I wasn’t eating vegetables and didn’t feel full. ~_~; Luckily I only gained one pound, because I was walking so much and managed to get an hour in of training here and there. I’m excited to get back to work and training. Thank you to a few people who helped sponsor me for this trip. Every little bit helps! 😀

Omg I leave for the tryouts the day after tomorrowwwwwwwwwwwww!
I forced myself to take a full day off from training, because I felt like if I went in and forced a session, I’d just get hurt. I ended up eating ice cream and crappy stuff. ;_; lol But oh so good.
I worked some overtime, but before that, I walked around and took pictures of random things in Kawasaki, because it amuses me.
WHAT IS WITH THE ELF HATS? The first time I saw it, it looked like someone’s winter hat was too small for their head, so instead of pulling it down properly to fit their head, they just let it stick straight up. Like an elf. Haha So cute.
Then I saw it again.
Like, so many people were wearing these “elf” hats, mainly men, cuz women don’t wanna mess up their purty hair. -_- And I have seen ones that stick up EVEN TALLER.
FAR BE IT for ME to criticize anyone’s fashion sense. Hahah I wear crocodile socks and anime T-shirts as a staple. But I think the elf hats look kind of goofy. ^^; But whatever makes them happy! I’ll just snicker and be a paparazzi. I’m entitled to my opinion, too, right?
I went to Unidy and found amusing stuff.
Pig pads! (female sanitary products.) Oh, how cute, I think I’ll buy a piggie design. X_x lol Because pigs are so clean. Wait…okay mixed images here.
Ghost hot pot holders, and a fish-shaped clippie thingie that helps you squeeze toothpaste out of the tube.
Silicon pot lid shaped like a hippo? and whale! 😀
Stick these thingies around and they eliminate bad odors!
This an alphabet chart for Japanese kids. It’s supposed to go “Ta CHI tsu te to.” IT’s CLEARLY CHI, not “TI.” and TSU not TU. OMG they’re teaching their kids wrongggggggggggggggg! get it righttttttttttt! As an education professional, I am enflamed!

So I was going to check out at the 100 yen shop, when I found this in my basket. I totally did not put these there. But upon closer inspection, I found out that THEY ARE ACTUALLY FANTASTIC so I bought them. XD Hahaha bizarre. Has that ever happened to any of you? Something appears in your cart that you don’t remember adding, but you decide to buy it anyway?
Finally, I went to my friend Tsuruoka-san’s restaurant Fukuzushi.
He wasn’t so busy so we chatted a lot. That was so fun. ^_^
