Long day at work + AACC MMA sparring!!

So Tuesday I worked from morning until evening and then I did a little sparring with Sakura. Wednesday, I thought I’d start in the evening, but my boss gave me bonus lessons, which was actually okay.

I went to a sister language center for one lesson. I got there SUPER early, because I’m so used to leaving early. lol In the middle of the day, I got to chat a lot with a new female co-worker Karen. I think there are 13? teachers in total, and three are female. I’m the 4th.

I really enjoyed chatting with the nice secretaries and especially my boss! I had a great day. Karen told me that the school is like one big family.

After work, which was awesome (did I say that?) I went to the AACC at 9:30 PM. It was the first time to go on a Wednesday and then men-folk were doing MMA sparring. 😀 😀 😀 I joined! and it was great! 😀 Oh man it was great! This will be SO good for me! 😀 This schedule is everything I dreamed it would be! XD Two of the guys actually tried to hit my face! You have no idea how frustrating it is for me to try and spar and have men shadow-boxing in front of me because they’re afraid to hurt a girl. Once I go back and they get used to me, maybe the rest of them’ll try.

I chatted with Ayaka and she said, “Wow, you’re sparring with the men!” I thought, well, who else should I spar with? And then I realized that in Japan, especially the AACC, the women tend to just train together. Except Akano. That doesn’t surprise me there. But then again, women are significantly smaller than foreign women, so it makes it EVEN harder for them. I mean, at 135 lbs, I don’t wanna get squashed against a huge 200 lb muscle guy, anymore than a 115 lb Japanese lady wants to go against a 180 lb-er.

I’m sore. I’m so happy! 😀…
